General Law and Order Situation

Chirang District is a Terrorist infested district, and a few years back it was dominated by the NDFB, ULFA, BLT, KRLO, AANLA, COBRA Militant, etc., however, the district administration took a citezen centric approach and large number of awareness camps were organised and the ill effects of terrorism were explained in detail and the citizens co-operated whole heartedly with the district administration. However, at strategic points, army and para-military forces were stationed to block the movement of the terrorist groups. Interactions with the students were organised in the schools and army, CRPF and SSB helped a lot in widening the horizon of the mental attitude of students. It not only helped the district administration to dominate the area, but also developmental activities got continued in full swing.
