District Disaster Management Authority

  • Overview                                                                                                                                       Flood 2021

    The district disaster information & response centre(ddi&rc) aims for an effective and realistic disaster management with fail proof communication, accurate databases in order to make optimal utilization of men, material and resources to prevent the loss to lives as well as minimize the loss of property ensuring fastest restoration of the situations.

    Objective

    1. The ddi&rc is under control of the dc, which will be operational round the clock and is the nerve centre for the following activities.
    2. To monitor coordinate and implement the actions/activities for effective disaster responses as well as management of available resources.
    3. In a disaster time the ddi&rc will operate under the central authority of the dc, exercising emergency power to issue directives to all departments to provide emergency response service.
    4. Dcr will coordinate with the state disaster response machinery like state relief commissioner and state disaster mitigation authority for appropriate support and smooth flow of information.
    5. The control room will be manned round the clock for emergency responses. The ddi&rc will be placed in the emergency section of the district collectorate.
    • On June 15, 2021, Nodal Officer from ASDMA (Hq) Biren Baishya visited Chirang district and held meeting with the officials of DDMA and heads of line departments concerned to take stock of the flood preparedness measures of the district administration. He also visited the flood prone areas and checked the status of some embankments and school buildings identified for setting up of relief camps.

    • Details of pre-identified relief Camps in Chirang::

      Based on the vulnerability of the villages, some relief camps have been pre-identified circle-wise so that the affected people can be immediately shifted/ relocated as when flood situation arises::

    • Pre-Identified Relief Camps under Bengtol Revenue Circle::

    • The Circle Officer, Bengtol Revenue Circle will be the overall in-charge for smooth running of relief camps under the Circle and he will be assisted by the Block Development Officer, Sidli Chirang Development Block as Sector Officer. The other departmental officers/ Staff will extend necessary support and coordination to the Circle Officer.

    • Pre-identified Relief Camps under Sidli Revenue Circle.

    • The Circle Officer, Sidli Revenue Circle will be the overall in-charge for smooth running of the relief camps under the circle and he will be assisted by the Block Development Officer, Sidli Chirang Development Block as Sector Officer. The Lot Mondals and other departmental Officials/ Staff will extend necessary support and cooperation to the Circle Officer.

    • Pre-identified Relief Camps in Bijni Revenue Circle ::

    • For smooth and coordinated relief operation under Bijni Revenue Circle, the entire flood prone area has been divided into several zones namely Borobazar, Manikpur, Bijni, Amguri, Panbari. The Circle Officer, Bijni Revenue Circle will be the overall incharge in the relief camp operation and he will be assisted by the Block Development Officers of Borobazar Block, Manikpur Block, Lot Mondals and other departmental Officials.
